FILL THE POWER

Will run in Saturdays Scottish National, which as most of you will know, is a race in which he ran a blinder last year, when, whilst still a Novice Chaser, he finished in the money in 5th place. FTP has not had a hard season, and with the ground at Ayr looking like being a combination of Soft / Good to Soft, together with the likelihood of him being ridden more prominently than Dougie Costello`s waiting tactics last year, plus the benefit of his wind operation, there is much to like about the chances of an even bigger run on Saturday. For most peoples sake though, I just hope Paul Nicholls will not decide to play silly buggers by running Tidal Wave in the race, which, apart from maybe four or five others, (including his own ante post jt fav Sam Winner !!!) would mean most of the runners would be out of the handicap proper, leaving many top jockeys present forced to watch the race in the Weighing Room, and Trainers scuttling around for jockeys who are able to ride at 10 stone. For the sake of the Ayr race, I just hope, if connections wish to run Tidal Bay again this season, they choose the week after…ie the Whitbread, or whatever its called these days, at Sandown.

PINEROLO

Will also run on the Ayr Saturday card in a Novice Handicap Chase over 3ml 1f. What happened to him at Uttoxeter last time I just don`t know, but with the forecast softer going, and the likely slower cruising speeds of the horses in the race, both those factors…I hope… will allow him to settle into the sort of rhythm he likes, and maybe we`ll see Pinerolo at his best again.

MISTER JONES

Is entered at Wetherby on Sunday 13th April in a 2ml 4f SELLING Hurdle (0 – 100) This easier level may prove the answer right now for him to learn what its like to get his nose in front, with potential benefits for future performances, hopefully at a better level. Richard
