Well its taken a while for our Becky to blossom, but boy what a star she has become for members of McGoldrick Racing
Great credit goes to Micky Hammond for Beckys latest success, as, after her previous win over hurdles at Cartmel, he then chose to exploit her low FLAT handicap rating 0f 66 by declaring her to run in one of the Stayers Series of races at Pontefract, a competition which Becky won last year.
Peter Naughton, who was on duty for RTV was delighted with the result, saying whilst the other joint favourite Suegioo was quirky and temperamental, Becky the Thatcher was just the opposite…
“Shes won 4 times over hurdles, and now 3 times on the flat, what a wonderful servant she has
been for McGoldrick Racing”
And will continue to be so for many more seasons hopefully Peter.
She`s only six, and, hopefully there will be lots more success to come, especially if she jumps fences as well as she jumps hurdles.
But for now, Becky has been turned out in a large field for a well deserved back to nature break, leaving us members to reflect on how much improvement there is to come
