A real genuine stayer who sadly suffered a tendon injury shortly after his final race of the 2014 /2015 season, when winning a very decent 3ml 2f hcp chase at Carlisle in grand style.
As this new website goes live, I can report FTP is very well indeed after spending six months back to nature on the moors around Sue and Harveys Craiglands Farm in High Eldwick.
The latest scan showed the injury is recovering, but, as always with tendon injuries, the more time spent at rest, the better the chances of a full recovery.
With that in mind, we have agreed to give FTP all the time he needs, and as a consequence, he will NOT race at all this current season.
On New Years Day, he will become a year older, so when he returns to racing…probably Sept / Oct 2016, we will be looking at a still lightly raced 10 yo gelding with, hopefully, TWO more seasons at least to come from this grand servant to us, and we look forward to discovering options available for him….including Veterans Chases, when he returns to duty.
