Mister McGoldrick
Aintree 26th October The Old Roan Chase
Apart from the 2nd fence he was a joy to watch. Jumping like a stag and turning into the straight he`s hard on the bridle and Dominic’s thinking ‘we`re going tio win this’.
Alas, it turned out to be exactly the hot race the experts predicted and consequently the cavalry came coming into the last and we ended up being beaten 5 lengths into 5th place. Almost a blanket finish in National Hunt racing!
He came out fine after the race and is now being aimed at Cheltenham or Aintree in November in the Paddy Power Chase and Betfair Chase respectively.
Having looked at the early closing entries for Cheltenham, I just hope the ground is something like it was for the Racing Post Plate earlier this year -i.e. nice and soft – and if so, I might just take a bit EW of the 25-1 on offer at the moment.
