The following article appeared in the Racing Post on 1st April 2016.
It formed part of an article by James Pyman under the heading “Pymans Theories” in which he writes…
“In the two weeks since the Cheltenham Festival, I have revisited earlier pre Cheltenham races involving horses who impressed at the Festival, and then unearthed the horses who missed the meeting but whose form nevertheless was rubber stamped.”
“DELUSIONOFGRANDEUR ran so badly at Newcastle last time (27th Feb) you have to think the run came too soon after a hard race at Musselburgh previously (7th Feb) when he did tremendously well to finish 3rd… on the heels of 00Seven, who faded to run 8th in the Neptune, but was disputing the lead two out, and Albert Bartlett runner up Fagan.
EXPECT THIS PROMISING HORSE TO BOUNCE BACK.”
I have to say that ALL our members involved with DoG are already aware of those form lines quoted above, and indeed other form lines as well to more than rubber stamp the fact that for a horse we bought as a 3ml Chaser in the making, his hurdling performances have more than exceeded our dreams, and as a result, we believe we`ve got an awful lot to look forward to next season.
