Here we go again then with our very promising hurdler Becky the Thatcher, and after a 216 day break from her last race, Becky is fit and raring to go at Catterick on Tuesday 10th October in a 1ml 7f Class 6 handicap
Micky Hammond was keen to start her 2017 / 18 season with a couple of warm up races on the flat.
Its 371 days since her last run on the flat, and whilst she ran some decent races, she didn`t quite get her nose in front, so she remains a maiden.
However, she was a revelation when sent hurdling and achieved a rating of 122, so racing off a flat mark of 58 for this Catterick race, she is a very well handicapped maiden….thats the theory anyway.
I know Becky has been working well, and Gemma, Mickys right hand “man” was telling me how pleased she is with her work.
Looks like we`ll have eleven opponents, and we`ll run off top weight of 9st 10lbs, but with PJ McDonald in the saddle, confidence in success is high.
