Market Rasen 10th May 2019
Another fine performance from Becky in her latest run, and it was no disgrace in finishing second to a well handicapped horse in Gowiththeflow which had Cheltenham form.
Beckys form figures now read 2 flat race wins….3 hurdle race wins and ELEVEN 2nds overall.
Yet again, this time at Market Rasen, Becky was seen to hit her usual flat spot approx 3 furlongs out when the others kicked for home, and yet again she picked up well to pass horses readily, to have every chance at the last, and was cutting into Gowiththeflow and Mr De Boinvilles lead, but having had an easy uncontested lead throughout, the front running leader held on comfortably to win by half a length.
Make no mistake though, Becky is one very decent horse, highly thought of in the Hammond yard, who has clocked up over £42 k in win and place money thus far…AND has strengthened and grown so much that Novice Chasing will be very much on the agenda next season.
In the meantime, we are looking at options at Cartmel, Hexham and perhaps Wetherby, before Becky is turned out, back to nature for a two months summer break, in a field with plenty of grass for her to relax and get fat, before returning in preparation for what we hope, with Chasing in mind, will prove to be her best season yet.
