NEW ARRIVAL
Delighted to announce McGoldrick Racing has acquired a 3yo Filly BazBall. A strange name, but a name that ALL cricketing lovers will need no explanation as to the origin and meaning.
For those who aren`t familiar, please check out BazBall on Wikipedia.
BazBall began her 2yo career in May 23 when trained by Karl Burke, with stats showing she raced fourteen times, winning 3 and finishing 2nd four times, after which a well earned break was necessary.
Upon Baz`s return, her four races were disappointing, but a veterinary certificate showed a minor wind operation was necessary, which was duly performed.
Her owner however decided to send Baz, and others also, to the Tattersalls at Newmarket.
Baz went into the ring, but failed to reach her reserve figure, and was not sold.
However, it should be kept in mind that she was almost the last horse to go under the hammer on that day, with few buyers still in attendance.
Fast forward to a few days later, and one of my knowledgeable contacts who was at the Sales, got in touch to say she`d seen a horse go through the ring unsold, about which, she said, there was “plenty to like”
Then came the clincher …. “early days yet she said, but could well turn out to be a decent hurdler”, which was music to my ears !!!
Have a look at BazBall in the second race 12.00 at Lingfield on December 6th last year, when she was staying on very nicely over 7 furlongs, which bode well for a future hurdling career.
An offer was made, a private sale was agreed, and from now on BazBall will be wearing McGoldrick Racings well known colours, and syndication shares will soon be available to all who enjoy National Hunt Racing….. minimum 10% share.
And if “Baz” himself ….Mr Brendon McCullum, wants a share, or indeed any fellow cricketing lover, whether amateurs, professionals or Saturday afternoon batters and bowlers…..not forgetting armchair viewers of course, I would be delighted to accommodate them !!!! Minimum 10% shares.
Racehorse ownership is always a gamble, but, from homework done, our Baz definitely ticks a lot of boxes, enough to believe she has a bright future, especially as there is a growing trend of trainers turning flat race horses into hurdlers, which makes her well worth a punt.
Should you have a genuine interest, please either give me a call or request further details via this website.
