This was a nice opportunity for Delusionofgrandeurs come back race.
The ground had been watered, and after Sue and Harvey had done their own `pitch inspection`they were happy for our fella to race, but it was not soft enough really for him.
Add to that the trip was obviously too short for him to be seen at his best, nevertheless, he had a real good pipe opener, though his fencing was a bit rusty at times, and, to use the time honoured phrase which covers a multitude of excuses for not winning…he`ll come on for the race!! which indeed he will.
I`ve asked Sue to have a look at a possible entry in the Durham National at Sedgefield on Thurs Nov 2nd., but whether 3ml 5f might be a bit too far too soon for DoG will be for Sue to decide.
Nice to see our horse get a positive mention in Paul Fergusons NH “Horses to Follow book, and he`s not the only “expert” saying nice things about DoG`s prospects this season…which all makes pleasant reading for syndicate members and myself.
